Can Women Be Leaders In The Christian Church?

In this world of political correctness and flaccid liberalism, we must turn to biblical scripture as the final authority. Although very often the scripture can be unsettling and direct, it can have a head-on collision with liberalism. One of the hotbed issues of late is the question of female leadership in the Christian Church. Let’s see what the Bible plainly reads on this subject:

Titus 1: 5-7 (NASB)

5 For this reason I left you in Crete, that you would set in order what remains and appoint elders in every city as I directed you,
six namely, if any man is above reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of dissipation
Obviously a woman cannot be the “husband of one wife.”

1 Timothy 2: 12-14 (NASB)

12 But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.
13 For it was Adam who was first created and then Eve.
14 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

Pretty clear again. Women are in leadership roles today largely because men are not doing their God-given role.

We are to take the scripture seriously! This is not an attack on women but more an indication of the man not following the scripture as set out in the Bible.

God Bless
