Terminology Tuesday: Penance (Heresy)

Just another work-based heresy by the Roman Catholic Church:

*In the Catholic tradition, the sacrament of reconciliation by which the penitent person is reconciled to God and the church through forgiveness of sin. Often such reconciliation comes after the penitent sinner performs some prescribed act as an indication of repentance.

A holy relationship with God only is made possible through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, not by our works! Read Ephesians 2: 8 (NASB)

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

Also Romans 4: 4-6 9NASB)

 Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. 5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness, 6 just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

Please pray for the Roman Catholic to see the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

Modernism: Is It Christian?

A good definition comes from Wikipedia.org:

*Modernism refers to theological opinions expressed during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but with influence reaching into the 21st century, which is characterized by a break with the past. Catholic modernists form an amorphous group. The term “modernist” appears in Pope Pius X’s 1907 encyclical Pascendi Dominici Gregis. Modernists, and what are now termed “Neo-Modernists,” generally do not openly use this label in describing themselves.
Modernists came to prominence in French and British intellectual circles and, to a lesser extent, in Italy.The Modernist movement was influenced by Protestant theologians and clergy, starting with the Tübingen school in the mid-19th century. Some modernists, however, such as George Tyrrell, would disagree with this; Tyrrell saw himself as loyal to the unity of the Church and disliked liberal Protestantism.
Since Pope Paul VI, most Church authorities have largely dropped the term “modernism,” preferring instead in the interest of precision to call beliefs such as secularism, liberalism relativism by their several names. The old term has however remained current in the usage of many Traditionalist Catholics and conservative critics within the Church.

But is it Christian?

No! Modernism is anti-Christian! Let’s look at some of its teachings that are being pushed upon the youth of today:

– The scriptures are denied as being “God Inspired.”
– If man ever had fallen, he fell upward instead of downward and has been slowly evolving upward since
– It denies the blood redemption
– It teaches there is no Hell
– It teaches no eternal punishment
– It teaches universalism and all will be saved in time
– It denies the new birth

As you can see, modernism is a dangerous belief and paving the way to an eventual Hell!
1 Corinthians 15: 12-19 (NASB)

12 Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; 14 and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. 15 Moreover, we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.

Terminology Tuesday: Real Presence Of Christ In The Eucharist

*The belief that Jesus Christ is actually physically and sacramentally present in the bread and the wine at the Lord’s Table, or Holy Communion. The biblical basis for this view includes a literal understanding of Jesus’ words of instruction, “This is my body. … This is my blood” (Mk 14: 22,24) as well as the supposed allusion to the Eucharist in Jesus’ bread-of-life discourse (Jn 6: 53-58). The real presence is taught by Lutherans and Roman Catholics (with substantial differences).

Imputation And It’s Importance

Theologically speaking, imputation refers to the righteousness of Christ being transferred to those who believe in Christ for their salvation.

Reading the book “The Righteous Shall Live By Faith” by RC Sproul, Dr. Sproul mentioned that he was at one time a part of the ECT, (Evangelicals and Catholics Together) and the partnership wanted to remove the doctrine of imputation. As RC Sproul wrote;

“Many say “it is fine for you theologians to worry about dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s, but why can’t we all just get along?”
This minor detail of imputation is the article upon which we live or die, upon which our eternal life is at stake.”

2 Corinthians 5: 16-21 (ESV)
16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake he made him be sin who knew no sin so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

This is a major issue with the Roman Catholic faith. Please pray for the Roman Catholic!

The Biblical Position Of Bowing To Statues Or Idols

(Leviticus 26:1, Deuteronomy 5:8-9, and Luke 4:8).

“Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God… Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me… And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve”

Bowing down is a form of worship:

Psalms 95:6 and Exodus 34:8;

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker

And Moses quickly bowed his head toward the earth and worshiped.

If you are following Buddhism, Roman Catholicism or any other form of false religion that bows to and worships idols, REPENT!

John 14: 5-7
5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

Follow Jesus, repent.

Was Peter The First Pope?

No. In fact, there is no scriptural evidence that Peter was even a bishop in the church in Rome. And there is no indication he was ever in Rome, to begin with.

The Holy Bible has no writings of any “pope” nor anything that would suggest some office of a pope existed as well. Quite the contrary is written in scripture! It is strictly forbidden!
Jesus said;

Matthew 23:8-9, “8 But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers. 9 And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.

Why does the Roman Catholic Church go against a direct order from Jesus Christ? The pope claims to be a “father”!

Please pray for the followers of this apostate church.

Buddhists Repent!

This following came from the website: http://www.english.fgs2.ca/?q=why-buddhists-bow-pray-or-worship-buddha-statue-if-buddhism-does-not-believe-creationism

And the statement is:

“Why Buddhists bow, pray or worship the Buddha statue if Buddhism does not believe in creationism?”

“Buddhists do not bow nor pray to a statue but to the Dharma that the figure represents. Dharma is the law of nature, and Buddhism is a way of life. What the Buddha taught is not just the law of nature but how we live by it. As a matter of fact, one of the principles in a discourse by the Buddha called the Three Reliances states that a Buddhist practitioner should rely on the Dharma and not on a person. The term “worship” is seldom used if not at all in Buddhism because it may cause confusion with its general meaning by other faiths such as Christianity. Worship is a total submission to a master, or a creator and Buddha is not our master nor a creator. He just our supreme and most respectable teacher, one who is fully enlightened. When we pray, we are praying to the Dharma, represented and taught by the Buddha.

Interesting huh?

Buddhists according to this website do NOT BOW OR PRAY to a statue….well google “Buddhists praying/worshiping and you will see many images of the Buddhist bowing to statues!The above article reads; “Buddhists do not bow nor pray to a statue but to the Dharma that the figure represents. However, they are still worshipping what it “represents”! What a spin! Of course, they will not USE the word worship…but be honest, if you bow to a statue you are worshiping it? Just like the Roman Catholics do with the statues of Mary and the Saints!

Please pray for the Buddhist to see the light of Jesus and not a dead Buddha! Jesus is still alive and will judge us all!

Please help the Buddhist graciously and present them with the Gospel of a live Jesus. Not a dead Buddha!

1 Corinthian 12: 2

2 You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.

Jesus is The Way the TRUTH and the Life!

My First Question To Atheists Results:

Question 1: Did you ever have religious upbringing, if so what denomination”

Roman Catholic: 4
Presbyterian: 1
Dutch Reformed (pseudo-Roman Catholic): 1
Southern Baptist: 1
Pentecostal: 1

Now this is non-scientific, however during my time as being a Christian Apologist, I have noted how many souls have left the church due to Roman Catholicism. Why is this?
My idea and I would certainly open this to the discussion, however since the Roman Church is apostate, it gives so many works based salvation that it is driving people from the church. Works based salvation is unattainable and apostate! Being an ex-RCC myself I can see why it has contributed to atheism.
