Why We Should Not Rejoice in the New Pope!

Perhaps before we rejoice on the “election” of a new pope we should take in consideration what the Apostle Paul wrote in Galatians 1: 6-17

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

11 I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. 12 I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

13 For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. 14 I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased 16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being. 17 I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia. Later I returned to Damascus.

Rome does not preach the correct Gospel. It is a false Gospel teaching us we cannot be saved without “works”! This denies what God is telling us. We are saved by “Grace”.

Apparently Galatians and Romans were written as filler? Do you think the Gospel is pared down to two sentences? We must read the scriptures in their entirety.

Got it off my chest! However I cannot stress this enough…WE MUST PRAY FOR THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH TO REPENT! I am certain that most people reading this will say I am coming across as judgmental and divisive, and I would suggest that I am. I do not want to see a stream of Roman Catholic followers going to hell. How “unloving” would that be? AMEN!

God Bless

Why Do Roman Catholics Pray To Mary and the Saints?

A few days ago I found a prayer in the form of a tract that was given to someone near to me that is a Roman Catholic. It is called a Novena Prayer. By definition ***A novena (from Latin: Novem, meaning Nine) is an institutional act of religious pious devotion in the Roman Catholic Church, often consisting of private or public prayers repeated for nine successive days in belief of obtaining special intercessory graces.
The prayers are often derived from devotional prayer books, or consist of the recitation of the rosary (a “rosary novena”), or of short prayers through the day. Novena prayers are customarily printed in small booklets, and the novena is often dedicated to a specific angel, saint, a specific Marian title of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or it invokes one of the personages of the Holy Trinity.
Within the Roman Catholic discipline, novena prayers for public use must have an Imprimatur, Nihil Obstat, and Imprimi potest. These ecclesiastical sanctions are usually granted by a bishop or any ranking prelate for publication and approval.

This particular “novena” reads this:

****Novena Prayers To Our Lady of the Snows
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful; O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen
Our Father Hail Mary Our Lady of the Snows, Pray for us.
ST. JOSEPH, pray for us.
ST. THERESE, THE LITTLE FLOWER, pray for us.
ST. EUGENE DE MAZENOD, pray for us.
GLORY BE TO THE FATHER.

Hebrews 12: 1-2 is very clear we are to have our eyes fixed on Jesus.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Mary herself, was greatly blessed, however she still needed a savior as she too was a sinner, see Luke 1:46-49,
46 And Mary said:
“My soul glorifies the Lord
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48 for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
holy is his name.

As for praying to Mary and the Saints, this is contrary to Biblical scripture as Jesus says in Matthew 4: 10,

10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.

Where in the Bible does it say that Mary is to be prayed to let alone the Saints? The Bible actually condemns such action. Read Exodus 20: 4-6

4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Here is a sample of Rome’s teaching of Mary the “mediator”:

“Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix.'” (CCC, par. 969)

Here is what the Word of God says in the Bible:

1 Timothy 2: 5-6
5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people.

Does anyone see the obvious contradiction here?

I ask we pray for the Roman Catholic people, to see the true God and not worship Mary as they have raised her to level of Goddess. They will deny this but their own false doctrines states this clearly:

Mary is the Queen over all things: CCC 966, “Finally the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things, so that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords and conqueror of sin and death.”You conceived the living God and, by your prayers, will deliver our souls from death.”

Again check the Word of Jesus:

John 14: 6,
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

I see no other way!

God Bless

What Is Biblical “Grace”?

The term “Grace” is spoken by Christians and has sparked much debate in the Christian community. This debate is whether we believers are saved by Grace, or saved by our deeds and works as the Roman Catholic Church teaches:

CCC 2010, “Since the initiative belongs to God in the order of grace, no one can merit the initial grace of forgiveness and justification, at the beginning of conversion. Moved by the Holy Spirit and by CHARITY, we can then MERIT ourselves and for others the graces needed for our sanctification, for the increase of GRACE and CHARITY, and for the attainment of eternal life. Even temporal goods like health and friendship can be merited in accordance with God’s wisdom. These graces and goods are the object of Christian prayer. Prayer attends to the grace we need for meritorious actions.”

But as we can easily see this is a gross error as the word of God not man, teaches us differently as seen in the book of Romans:

Romans 11: 6 (NASB) 6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.

Grace is one of the central intellections of Biblical scripture. In a nutshell grace is God’s gift of loving actions towards mankind. Grace is the altruistic bulging of God’s love towards the son of God, Jesus. It is the love demonstrated to humans by Gods giving us Jesus to permit us to enter a loving relationship with God as the Holy Spirit will allow. There are three types of grace indicated in the Bible;

Efficacious grace points to the special usage of grace that comes to a person by faith to Christ for salvation. God’s bringing about a genuine salvation of a person.

Common grace is Gods giving favor to all people through providential care regardless if they acknowledge the love of God.

Then there is prevenient grace. This is a Wesleyan idea that is thought to be the same as common grace. John Wesley (the founder of Methodism) had this idea that God has enabled people everywhere to acknowledge approvingly to the Gospel if they choose to.

We can all rejoice in Gods’ free gift of love!

Jesus Is the Rock on Which the Church Is Built. Or Is It Peter?

One does not have to look any farther than 1 Corinthians 3: 10-11 to see that Jesus is the Rock on which the Church is built:

10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

So why does the Roman Catholic Church insist that Peter is the rock on which the Church is built? Well the RCC is in error, by saying Jesus said that he would build his Church on him (Peter) when they refer to Matthew 16: 18,

18 And I tell you that you are Peter] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

The Roman Catholic Church position is very problematic. Matthew 16: 18 when read from the Greek language yields a different interpretation than in English! “…and I also tell you are Peter (πέτρος, petros) and on this rock (πέτρα, petra) I will build My church, and…” Greek nouns are gender specific.

The Roman Catholic defense to the above is where they will quote that in Aramaic the word “Peter” and “Rock” are spelled the same way “Kipha”. However the problem lies in the fact that the scripture was written in Greek not Aramaic. Why would the RCC say this? Jesus clearly said that the rock he would build his church on was the feminine “petra” not the masculine “petros”!

John 14: 6, 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

God Bless.

Does The Roman Catholic Church Perform Sorcery?

I know, now you are going to say I am going too far now! However if we look at the very definition of “Sorcery” it is: “The involvement of the Spirit World via rituals and orations to get a specific aftereffect in the Physical World”. Are the Roman Catholics guilty of these things? Let’s take a quick look of this from the writing from the Church’s own publications:

CCC 1127 Celebrated worthily in faith, the sacraments confer the grace that they signify .48 They are efficacious because in them Christ himself is at work: it is he who baptizes, he who acts in his sacraments in order to communicate the grace that each sacrament signifies. The Father always hears the prayer of his Son’s Church which, in the epiclesis of each sacrament, expresses her faith in the power of the Spirit. As fire transforms into itself everything it touches, so the Holy Spirit transforms into the divine life whatever is subjected to his power.

CCC 1128 this is the meaning of the Church’s affirmation that the sacraments act ex opere operato (literally: “by the very fact of the action’s being performed”), i.e., by virtue of the saving work of Christ, accomplished once for all. It follows that “the sacrament is not wrought by the righteousness of either the celebrant or the recipient, but by the power of God.” From the moment that a sacrament is celebrated in accordance with the intention of the Church, the power of Christ and his Spirit acts in and through it, independently of the personal holiness of the minister. Nevertheless, the fruits of the sacraments also depend on the disposition of the one who receives them.

These two reference examples (and there are more) show clearly that by the simple act of performing a sacrament, which is a ritual, a particular outcome will arise. When the sacraments are done by a priest in a particular style they achieve, by indication of the procedure procured and the authority of the church and the priest, the intended result will be received, according to the Roman Catholic Church. This my friend is Sorcery!

The Rosary Beads:

The Rosary Beads are ritualistic and boldly laughs at the words of God! Roman Catholics must do 20 sets of 10 “Hail Marys”, (200 times in total.) In defense the Catholics petition to Psalm 136, that translates the same phrase 26 times with 26 different blessings that God gives us. It is not 26 in a row as with the rosary! This is a song, and not a prayer. As history indicates The Roman Catholic Church borrowed the idea from the Pagan Hindus and Buddhists and goes back as far as 1000 AD! The beads the Catholics use today were invented in 1090 AD by Peter the Hermit (a priest of Amiens and a key figure during the First Crusade).

Biblically a Christian knows this is wrong, and condemned by Jesus:

Matthew 6: 7-8, 7 “And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. 8 So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

The Rosary is not only vain repetition and meaningless, it is a form of Mary worship that is against the Second Commandment.

Exodus 20: 4-5 4 “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,

I ask that Christians pray to God (directly) to show the Roman Catholic’s the true way to Jesus and ultimately Salvation.

God Bless!

Nothing Against the Roman Catholic Church, however…

By now anyone who has been following my blog posts will have noticed that most of them have been directed at the Roman Catholic Church. Why am I writing so much about them? Well most Roman Catholics (in fact all) that have read this blog are up in arms about the direction I have been taking regarding the actions and inactions of the RCC. In effect I have been writing polemically against the Church as I have found that the legalism and past history of the Church is choking the life out the followers.

I did a very unscientific poll recently, and the title of that poll was “How many Atheists were at one time from the Roman Catholic Church?” The results were not good for the RCC. I am also seeing very many Atheists in chat rooms today starting with….”I was raised in a Catholic family….etc”, the rest was not good if you can see where I am heading with this. Is there a connection? I don’t know for sure however it seems that there is a great disillusionment happening within that RCC! I thank God for not letting me head down the road of Atheism as I too was a Catholic that escaped with my faith in tact!

Recently I was at a Wedding Reception, and my wife and I were chatting with a guest at a table, and the subject of Religion came up. As both my Wife and I are Pastors the subject of faith usually comes up. The gentleman we were speaking with said “I guess by denomination I am a Catholic” and he went on to state, “although I don’t go to Mass anymore…” This is not the first time I have heard this. It happens over and over that the Roman Catholic says “I am a Catholic but I don’t go to Church…”? What the heck is going on?

A more startling side of all this is that when I quote actual writings from Official Roman Catholic publications and Councils etc., the reaction is always from a defensive postition. In fact the last post I read on a Catholic Bloggers site he posted that “The Church teaches us”, “The head of the Council said…”, but where is Christ in their teaching? So much Mary propaganda and legalism that they can’t seem to see through the stained glass and idol worship to read the actual word of God! I truly believe that the Catholic Church is an Idol in itself!

I hope that if you find this post offensive, instead of writing more snarky comments back to me, take some time to read the Gospels of Christ! Reevaluate then get back to me!

God Bless,

Mary, The Mother of God?

Mary, the Mother of God?

The view from the Roman Catholic Church is that Mary is the Mother of God. Are we to believe this? Are we to take our eyes off of Jesus and worship Mary?
Hebrews 12:2 says otherwise….”2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Before I go any further let’s read what comes directly from the Roman Catholic Church…
From Vatican Collection Volume 1, Vatican Council II, The Conciliar and Post Conciliar documents. General Editor Austin Flannery, O.P. New revised edition 1992; Costello publishing company, Northport, New York. 1992 pages 420-421 (par. 65)

65. But while in the most Blessed Virgin the church has already reached that perfection whereby she exists without spot or wrinkle (cf. Eph. 5:27), the faithful still strive to conquer sin and increase in holiness. And so they turn their eyes to Mary who shines forth to the whole community of the elect as the model of virtues. Devoutly meditating on her and contemplating her in the light of the Word made man, the Church reverently penetrates more deeply into the great mystery of the Incarnation and becomes more and more like her spouse. Having entered deeply into the history of salvation, Mary, in a way, unites in her person and re-echoes the most important doctrines of the Faith: and when she is the subject of preaching and worship she prompts the faithful to come to her son, to his sacrifice and to the love of the Father. Seeking after the glory of Christ, the Church becomes more like her lofty type, and continually progresses in faith, hope and charity, seeking and doing the will of God in all things. The Church, therefore, in her apostolic work too, rightly looks to her who gave birth to Christ, who was thus conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, in order that through the church he could be born and increase in the hearts of the faithful. In her life the Virgin has been a model of that motherly love with which all who joined in the church’s apostolic mission for the regeneration of mankind should be animated.

IV. THE CULT OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN IN THE CHURCH1
66. Mary has by grace been exalted above all angels and men to a place second only to her Son, as the most holy Mother of God who was involved in the mysteries of Christ: she is rightly honored by a special cult in the Church. From the earliest times the Blessed Virgin is honored under the title of Mother of God, whose protection the faithful take refuge together in prayer in all their perils and needs. Accordingly, following the Council of Ephesus, there was a remarkable growth in the cult of the people of God towards Mary, in veneration and love, in invocation and imitation, according to her own prophetic words: “all generations shall call me Blessed, because he that is mighty hath done great things to me,” (Luke 1:48).

This is completely unbiblical.

“Mary has by grace been exalted above all angels and men to a place second only to her Son” Where is this found in the Bible?
“as the most holy Mother of God who was involved in the mysteries of Christ” Mary was the Mother of the human nature of Jesus, not the Mother of God. Remember that Jesus had two natures, fully God and fully Human known as the Hypostatic Union. She is the Mother of the Human part of Jesus.
Don’t get me wrong, Mary was a woman of high virtue, however the Roman Catholic Church wants you to believe that she is at the level of Goddess and Mediatrix, (Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph 969), (CCC 966), (CCC 974) and (Vatican II, Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, par. 66)

I believe that it is not only unbiblical but heretical and the work of demonic forces. If it cannot be backed by Biblical scripture, then where does it come from? If you are a Roman Catholic, I challenge you to seek the truth and pray on this.

God Bless!

The Holy Bible vs. The Roman Catholic Church. Round One.

If you have been following this blog, you will notice that I have been very hard on the Roman Catholic Church. I am for many reasons. I am compelled as I see so many good people that cannot get above the legalism and straight out heresies that the RCC serves to them! This is a Salvation issue, nothing trivial!

So for discussion purposes I will lay out several falsehoods of the RCC and then what the Holy Bible aka “The Word of God” has to say about them. These are direct from the RCC that must be obeyed by the Church. I give you this scripture before embarking on our trip through the Catholic jungle.

2 Thess 2: 10-12, 10 “and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.”

1) Catholic’s usage of “Father” as a salutation: Matthew 23: 9, “And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.”
This is a direct violation of the Word of God.

2) The act of Pouring Water for Baptism (not total immersion): Romans 6: 4, 4 “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
Hmmm…

3) Catholics appoint Saints: 1 Cor 1:2, 2 ” 2 unto the church of God which is at Corinth, even them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, their Lord and ours:”
ALL Christians are Saints.

4) Catholics Observance of Special Days: Gal 4: 9-11, “9 But now that you know God—or rather are known by God—how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces[d]? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? 10 You are observing special days and months and seasons and years! 11 I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you.”
Pretty clear…and lastly but not all…

5) The importance of Clerical Dress by Catholics: Matthew 23: 4-5, “4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. 5 “Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries[a] wide and the tassels on their garments long;”
Enough here to chew on I am guessing?

These are just a few of the conflicts and contradictions of God’s word to be found in the massive ornate building’s, traditions and RCC doctrines. I hope if you are a Catholic you will at least think about these points, and God’s word.

God Bless!

Mary. Full of Grace?

No. Let me explain or better yet, let me quote The Catholic Encyclopedia” under the topic of “Hail Mary”, it reads…”Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women , embodies the words used by the Angel Gabriel in saluting the Blessed Virgin. The RCC added “Hail Mary Full of Grace” to Luke 1: 28.

Luke 1:28 28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” After the RCC was done with this it reads: “Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed among women are you, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.”

You cannot find the phrase “Hail Mary Full of Grace” in the Bible. The phrase is brought up though, through the Roman Catholic Church’s Catechism several times. For example:

She was redeemed from conception without sin. CCC pg 491 states, “The most Blessed Virgin Mary was from the first moment of conception, by a singular grace and privilege of almighty God and by virtue of the merits of Jesus Christ, Savior of the Human Race, preserved immune from all stain of original sin”

“Full of Grace” in Greek is “Plarus Karitos” and only occurs twice in the New Testament, and it is not about Mary.
John 1:14, 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Acts 6: 8, 8 Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.

In conclusion, there is no doubt that Mary was a “very blessed woman”, and she did give birth to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to not forget her “high privilege”. But to raise her up to a level of Goddess and Mediatrix, it is just plain Idol Worship! Mary was a creature that sinned. We should not worship or pray to a creature, but to pray to our Lord Jesus.

John 14:6, 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. And that includes Mary.

Ask a Catholic if they pray to Mary?

God Bless!

Purgatory…Huh?

In this blog I have made a promise to myself that I intended to keep, however I have to break it. My full intention was to do a blog on apostasies attempting to destroy the word of God, and with the odd atheist propaganda and commentaries done from time to time. Sadly, it seems that the Roman Catholic Apostate Church has many members of it so mislead by false doctrine and brainwashing that it has directed me to bring up more false teachings from the RCC. And by what I mean by saying “false teachings” is direct scripture twisting, outright lies or man-made rituals and ideas that are nowhere to be found in the Bible! Today I will write about Purgatory.

This is the Roman Catholic “make believe” land that is completely unbiblical. By definition the RCC Church states…”it is a place in the afterlife where some of the sins of people are purged through suffering. After a period of time corresponding to the suffering necessary for the sins committed, the person is then released and enters heaven. Gifts or services paid to the church, prayers by the priests, and or masses provided by family or friends in behalf of the deceased can shorten, mitigate or remove the sojourn of the soul in purgatory.” This insults the work Christ did on the cross!

This is a bizarre and total disregard or comprehension of the atonement of Christ! Hebrews 9: 27 reads: 27 And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,
CCC par 1030 reads “”All who die in Gods grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation, but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven.”
Huh?

I and fellow Protestants have some glaring issues with this doctrine, none of this is found in the Holy Bible! Purification? More works in something we must do is the bottom line again for the Roman Catholic Church! It infers that we are not justified by faith alone. Purgatory also infers by this doctrine that the righteousness of Christ does not cleanse from all sins. God does not require all these works!

The more I read into this the more I get fascinated by where all of this comes from?

God Bless!
