Some Quotes from Joseph Smith

Joseph Smith had stated many heretical quotes, and here are a few of them;

1. Smith stated there are many gods:
“Hence, the doctrine of a plurality of Gods is as prominent in the Bible as any other doctrine. It is all over the face of the Bible . . . Paul says there are Gods many and Lords many . . . but to us there is but one God–that is pertaining to us; and he is in all and through all,” (History of the Church, vol. 6, p. 474). “In the beginning, the head of the Gods called a council of the Gods; and they came together and concocted a plan to create the world and people it,” (Journal of Discourses, vol. 6, p. 5).

2. Smith stated that God was once a man:
“God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted Man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens . . . I say, if you were to see him today, you would see him like a man in form–like yourselves, in all the person, image, and very form as a man . . . it is necessary that we should understand the character and being of God, and how he came to be so; for I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity, I will refute that idea, and will take away and do away the veil, so that you may see . . . and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God himself the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth the same as Jesus Christ himself did.” (Journal of Discourses, vol. 6, p. 3).

3. Joseph Smith boasted that he did more than Jesus to keep a church together:
“God is in the still small voice. In all these affidavits, indictments, it is all of the devil–all corruption. Come on! ye prosecutors! ye false swearers! All hell, boil over! Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! for I will come out on the top at last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him, but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet . . . ” (History of the Church, vol. 6, p. 408-409).

4. Joseph Smith stated that the Book of Mormon was more correct than the Bible.
“I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book,” (History of the Church, vol. 4, p. 461).

5. Joseph Smith stated that there are men living on the moon:
“The inhabitants of the moon are more of a uniform size than the inhabitants of the earth, being about 6 feet in height. They dress very much like the Quaker style and are quite general in style or the one fashion of dress. They live to be very old; coming generally, near a thousand years. This is the description of them as given by Joseph the Seer, and he could ‘See’ whatever he asked the Father in the name of Jesus to see”

Please pray for the followers of Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism. The Cult following of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is leading people to hell. The Book of Mormon has undergone almost 4000 changes in its history. Joseph Smith said that the Book of Mormon was “translated by the hand of God”, so why would changes be necessary? Why would anyone believe in this heretical book, and the words of Joseph Smith?

Does the Bible State That God is the Author of Confusion?

Genesis 11: 7-9 (NASB); 7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language so that they will not understand one another’s speech.” 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of the whole earth; they stopped building the city. 9 Therefore its name was called Babel because there the Lord confused the language of the whole earth, and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of the whole earth.

1 Corinthians 1: 27 but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong,

According to the above scriptures, God is the author of confusion. The following scripture reads that He is not:

1 Corinthians 14:33; for God is not a God of confusion but of [m]peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

God is not the author of confusion but He approves of order and peace. However, there is no reason to believe that God cannot bring confusion or destruction to the rebels of God’s Word.
Read Deuteronomy 28:15; “But it shall come about, if you do not [o]obey the Lord your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes with which I charge you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

God can bring confusion to the wicked and those who do not obey the Word of God!

Was it Jesus or God the Father who sent the Holy Spirit?

John 14:25-26; NASB 25 “These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

John 15:26; 26 “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me

Some critics will say that the above scriptures contradict themselves. However proper exegesis clearly points to God, (both God and the Son and God the Father) had sent the Holy Spirit. If you read John 15:26, it reads that Jesus sent the “helper” “from” through the Father. By clear reasoning both persons were sending the Holy Spirit.

How Many Angels Did The Women See at Christ’s Tomb?

Ocaisionally skeptics will state the “apparent” contradiction in the Bible in regards to how many angels were at Jesus’ tomb, One or Two angels?

Read Matthew 28:2; “28 Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave. And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.

Read Mark 16:5; Entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting at the right, wearing a white robe; and they were amazed.

Read John 24:4; But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb; 12 and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been lying.

Read Luke 24:2; While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly stood near them in dazzling clothing;and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living One among the dead?

Can you see the contradiction? There is a failure in the skeptics perception, and that is they fail to see the event was at different times and different people. Of course the women saw two angels in the verse Luke 24:2 and only one angel was written about in Matthew 28:2 and Mark 16:5.

Mary Magdaline was the first to arrive at the tomb and saw an empty tomb, however on her next visit she saw two angels. John 11:13;  But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb; 12 and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been lying. 13 And they *said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She *said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”

Mary Magdaline later saw Jesus as written in John 20:14; When she had said this, she turned around and *saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus.

Scripture must always be taken in context. If you don’t account for different people and different times, errors in exegesis will occur.

Was the Tomb of Jesus Never Visited?

Some critics and skeptics have stated and maintain the opinion that the tomb of Christ was never visited. They claim that Jesus appeared “spiritually” to the disciples and not in body, with the crucifixion scars.

This can be refuted by going to the holy scriptures for evidence.

It was the women that first went to the tomb as we read in Mark 16:1;

“When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might come and anoint Him.” The women came to complete the burial procedures. Mark 16:4 continues;
4 Looking up, they *saw that the stone had been rolled away, although it was extremely large.

John arrived next and saw the burial clothes, and then Peter entered the tomb and saw the clothes as well as a face linen.

John 20:3-8, 3 So Peter and the other disciple went forth, and they were going to the tomb. 4 The two were running together, and the other disciple ran ahead faster than Peter and came to the tomb first; 5 and stooping and looking in, he *saw the linen wrappings lying there; but he did not go in. 6 And so Simon Peter also came, following him, and entered the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there, 7 and the face-cloth which had been on His head, not lying with the linen wrappings, but rolled up in a place by itself. 8 So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed.

The guards also made a thorough search of the tomb and reported it to the Jewish leaders.

Matthew 28:11, 11 Now while they were on their way, some of the guards came into the city and reported to the chief priests all that had happened.

The guards would not have come to an agreement to lie if they could come up with a viable excuse for the missing body. Saying the tomb was never visited as a theory makes little sense, and certainly does not explain the resurrection appearances and mass conversions of people shortly after that. God be praised!

Second Lease on Life: Is There Life After Death?

After my close call with death last month, it strangely gives more perspective and meaning to life. I as a Christian of course believe in Jesus and His Word, so I don’t have a fear of dying per se, as I know where I will be going after I am gone.

Although I needed to be jolted in the Emergency Room, I did not have any so-called out of body experiences. The only thing besides thanking God to allow me to live, and I have become more unrestrained in sharing God’s Word from the pages of the Bible as to what happens after death.

Here are some of the scriptures associated with the subject of the afterlife. Of course the scripture also speaks of the unimaginable terror of going to hell:

Luke 16:22-23 (NASB)
22 “Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried.
23 “In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom.

Revelation 14:11 (NASB)
11 “And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

John 14:3 (NASB)
3 “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.

2 Corinthians 5:8 (NASB)
8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

Philippians 1:21–23 (NASB)
21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
22 But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which to choose.
23 But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better;

The Gap Theory : A Response From the Pages of the Bible

There is a notion among Bible believers and skeptics of the Word that the Book of Genesis describes two different creations. Beside the model of a “Six Day Creation”, there are proponents of believers and skeptics that say there was a “different creation”. The difference presented in Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. The model points to the creation taking eons as opposed to literal days. “Answers in Genesis” sums it up this way: “According to the gap theory, there’s a very long gap of time between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. The world that existed during this gap was destroyed and God re-created in the six days described in Genesis. This idea fails because it lacks biblical support and puts death before sin when Scripture describes death as the consequence for sin.

The Bible contradicts the idea of the Gap Theory in several scriptures:

Exodus 20:11: 11 “For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.”

Exodus 20:11 Plainly represents creation taking 6 days.

2 Peter 3:5-6 5: For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, 6 through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.

2 Peter 3 states that the World is formed from water with no mention of land in the text.

Genesis 1:2 “The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.”

Genesis 1:2 is clearly an explanation of the starting moments following the creation of the time-space-mass continuum in Genesis 1:1.

Remember that scripture needs to be taken seriously and it contains the Word of God! Do not exceed what is written!

1 Corinthians 4:6 “6 Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, so that in us you may learn not to exceed what is written, so that no one of you will become arrogant in behalf of one against the other.”

Life is fragile…

I apologize for not writing a blog for some time now. I by God’s providence am here to write another one! Please allow me to describe what happened to me, and to praise the Lord for allowing me to write this blog entry.

As a stubborn male who rarely went to a Doctor, my family was pleading for me to see one as my breathing became very weak over a period of time. So due to the pleading I decided to see an MD at a walk-in clinic. He made me get some blood tests an EKG as well as other lab tests.

The following weekend I was contacted by the Doctor on his day off and he asked how I was feeling? I responded …”mmm okay…”. He then told me that my heart rate is way too high and go to the emergency straight away!

Being at my Mother’s at the time, I asked her to take me to the Emergency ward at the hospital. She dropped me off at the emergency’s front door and I proceeded to enter. I collapsed 20 feet in the doorway! The next thing I know is I am being worked on by a large staff of health practitioners. I woke up the next day in the ICU department. I was told I suffered heart failure, and in fact I needed an electric shock to be revived!

All of the events described happened 5 weeks ago, and I am now back home and able to write more articles, by the Grace of God. By Divine intervention I was saved, there is no doubt in my mind. The Doctors and Nurses said that I should have died (in so many words), and I told them all that “God ain’t done with me yet!”

I can tell you that all that led me to that moment only makes sense as God’s intervention directly. I can get into details but I wanted to keep this short.

Thank you friends for continuing to follow this blog, and believe me that God is real! God is great!

Psalm 41:3 (NASB) The Lord will sustain him upon his sickbed;
In his illness, You restore him to health.

The Marion Dogmas

The Truth is only found in scripture, and if you can’t locate a dogma in the Holy Scriptures then it I not Truth! The Roman Catholic Church is apostate and has what is named the “Marion Dogma’s” and they have no Biblical Basis! Remember the daunting scripture in 1 Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 4:6
6 Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, so that in us you may learn not to exceed what is written, so that no one of you will become [e]arrogant in behalf of one against the other.

You are not to exceed what is written!
I will quote the Roman Catholic Church’s own documents.

1. Mary is the Mother of God.

“Mary is truly “Mother of God” since she is the mother of the eternal Son of God made man, who is God himself,” (CCC 509).

“Called in the Gospels “the mother of Jesus,” Mary is acclaimed by Elizabeth, at the prompting of the Spirit and even before the birth of her son, as “the mother of my Lord.” In fact, the One whom she conceived as man by the Holy Spirit, who truly became her Son according to the flesh, was none other than the Father’s eternal Son, the second person of the Holy Trinity. Hence the Church confesses that Mary is truly “Mother of God” (Theotokos),” (CCC 495).

2. Mary was a virgin for her entire life; Perpetual Virginity.

“Mary “remained a virgin in conceiving her Son, a virgin in giving birth to him, a virgin in carrying him, a virgin in nursing him at her breast, always a virgin” (St. Augustine, Sermon. 186, 1: PL 38, 999): with her whole being she is “the handmaid of the Lord” (Lk 1:38),” (CCC 510).

“The deepening of faith in the virginal motherhood led the Church to confess Mary’s real and perpetual virginity even in the act of giving birth to the Son of God made man. In fact, Christ’s birth “did not diminish his mother’s virginal integrity but sanctified it.” And so the liturgy of the Church celebrates Mary as Aeiparthenos, the “Ever-virgin,” (CCC 499).

3. The Immaculate Conception. That Mary remained without sin or stain and was redeemed at conception.

“Finally the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things, so that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords and conqueror of sin and death.” The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin is a singular participation in her Son’s Resurrection and an anticipation of the resurrection of other Christians: In giving birth you kept your virginity; in your Dormition, you did not leave the world, O Mother of God, but were joined to the source of Life. You conceived the living God and, by your prayers, will deliver our souls from death,” (CCC 966).

“Through the centuries the Church has become ever more aware that Mary, “full of grace” through God, was redeemed from the moment of her conception. That is what the dogma of the Immaculate Conception confesses, as Pope Pius IX proclaimed in 1854: The most Blessed Virgin Mary was, from the first moment of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of almighty God and by virtue of the merits of Jesus Christ, Savior of the human race, preserved immune from all stain of original sin,” (CCC 491).

4. The Bodily Assumption of Mary.

“The Sunday celebration of the Lord’s Day and his Eucharist is at the heart of the Church’s life. “Sunday is the day on which the paschal mystery is celebrated in light of the apostolic tradition and is to be observed as the foremost holy day of obligation in the universal Church.” (1167; 2043) “Also to be observed are the day of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Epiphany, the Ascension of Christ, the feast of the Body and Blood of Christi, the feast of Mary the Mother of God, her Immaculate Conception, her Assumption, the feast of Saint Joseph, the feast of the Apostles Saints Peter and Paul, and the feast of All Saints,” (CCC 2177).

“Finally, the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things, so that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords and conqueror of sin and death.” The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin is a singular participation in her Son’s Resurrection and an anticipation of the resurrection of other Christians: In giving birth you kept your virginity; in your Dormition, you did not leave the world, O Mother of God, but were joined to the source of Life. You conceived the living God and, by your prayers, will deliver our souls from death,” (CCC 966).

These dogmas are not to be found in scripture anywhere.
Please pray for the Roman Catholic followers, that the Holy Spirit may come upon them!

God Bless
