Scientism And It’s Problems

I love it when people engrossed in Scientism say they only need science because science will eventually fix everything and answer all our problems. They will go on to put down and ridicule believers in God and his writings in the Bible stating how can you believe in what is written down in an “old book written by desert peasants?” Let’s look at some of the past failures of science and ask them ” You put faith/trust in something with this track record? Here we go:
“Piltdown Chicken, Chernobyl, Mercury Fillings, Thalidomide, Hole in the Ozone Layer, Global Cooling, Global Heating, Darwinian Evolution, Iridium, Silicone Implants, Y2K, MTBE Contamination, DMSO, the Fen-phen Fiasco, Over Use of Antibiotics, Aspartame, Saccharine, and Lucy for a slice of examples of vacillation and failures of science.

As for a “dusty book written by peasants”, there are 45+ Prophecies that have been fulfilled and plenty of examples of the bible speaking about so called “scientific discoveries” of modern times in that “dusty book”! For example: The round shape of the earth, earth is suspended in nothing, the stars are innumerable, the existence of valleys in the seas, the hydrologic cycle, concept of entropy and many more!

Don’t get me wrong, I am a lover of science and believe that science is a gift from God in many cases. Science also exposes the wonders of creation. Scientism does have major problems and I believe the biggest problem is that the Gospel is forgotten in the mix.

Isaiah 44: 6-8
6 “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:
‘I am the first and I am the last,
And there is no God besides Me

The Shack: Uncovered

Time to revisit the heresy that William Paul Young is putting out there in the screen adaptation to his novel “The Shack”!

Christians need to use discernment and proper exegesis of scripture. This movie is blasphemous!

A work of fiction yes, however it is insulting to God!

Michael Youssef’s sermon on this book is very important, and please share it!

Addictions. How to Overcome Them.

I would like you to check out a Brother’s Website and Ministry. His Name is Chad Prigmore and his ministry is called http://www.recoveryreformation.org

Chad’s Site has a wealth of information on it, and one of it’s main topics is “Alcoholics Anonymous” and exposing it for what it is.

“The rise in addiction is a symptom of a society in decline, largely in rebellion against God and His truth. Humanism and relativism will continue to further the decay. Addiction is a manifestation of sin, it is not a chronic disease to be addressed clinically as alluded to in the article. Gal 5:19-21 ” Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, SORCERY, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” SORCERY: pharmakeia = medication (“pharmacy”), that is, (by extension) magic (literal or figurative): – sorcery, witchcraft.”

Please pray for his Ministry and the light it sheds on addictions and recovery!

Some rambling thoughts about “tithing”

Good points made here!

excatholic4christ

“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoevertt sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior back in the early 80s and began attending a Gospel-preaching church shortly afterwards. Three or four times a year the pastor would preach on financial giving to the church. He stated that although the New Testament doesn’t command tithing – giving a tenth of your gross income as the Israelites were obligated to do in the Old Testament – that tithing should be our minimum practice since we New Testament saints have so much more to be grateful for. I wasn’t familiar with tithing since I came from the Catholic church where contribution amounts weren’t mandated.

When pastors appeal for funds they often omit…

Islam and Music

The Western World should know how Islam looks upon music and the Performing Arts. Put it mildly, music is not looked at in a good light. Please check out the following PDF from the Arts Council of England:

Spiritual Warfare Ammunition

I have written on the subject of Spiritual Warfare within the family in past articles, but it is something worth revisiting on a regular basis. As the bible plainly states:

Ephesians 6:12, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

As you can read Spiritual Warfare encompasses more than just with the family. So today, I will post a scripture from Ephesians 5. This scripture makes one become introspective and frankly it is a spiritual slap in the face, that we all need once in a while. Please read;

Ephesians 5 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Be Imitators of God
5 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; 2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.

3 But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; 4 and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them; 8 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light 9 (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), 10 trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. 11 Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; 12 for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. 14 For this reason it says,

“Awake, sleeper,
And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you.”
15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, 16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil. 17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; 20 always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; 21 and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.

God Bless
