A Problem With The Tripitaka

The Tripitaka is the oldest collection of scriptures in Buddhism. Tripitaka translated is “Three Baskets” as it was organized into three sections. These scriptures were not written in the time of Buddha but according to http://buddhism.about.com/ “The Tripitaka was not, however, written during the life of the Buddha, in the late 5th century BCE, but in the 1st century BCE.” And the source further states “ The texts were kept alive through the years, according to legend, by being memorized and chanted by generations of monks. This is a matter that must be accepted on faith, as there is little historical corroboration of the origins of the texts.” Apparently “little historical corroboration of the origins of the books.” either.

Interesting that a “philosophy” as most Buddhists will call it relies on “faith”. Furthermore, the texts were “kept alive through the years,” “according to legend” by “memorization and chanting by generations of monks.”

Why is it that Buddhist’s will not accept the Holy Bible as the Word of our Creator Jesus? The New Testament was written by eyewitnesses to the miracles of Jesus. The risen Jesus was seen by hundreds and maybe thousands of witnesses and yet the Buddhist is more set on reading and worshiping words in the Tripitaka other than the Holy Words of God! Council after council were convened to come up with their writings, in fact, the first council has not been proven to have happened at all.

“Did the First Buddhist Council happen? I do not believe there is any contemporary documentation or archaeological evidence that corroborates Buddhist accounts, which mostly come from a section of the Pali Vinaya called the Cullavagga. I have read histories that say some meeting probably did take place, while other historians are not sure.”

My question is this, “If this is the oldest scripture of Buddhism, and is nebulous in its origin, why would anyone believe it?”

Buddhism is of the flesh, that’s why! Humanity loves it sins and will do anything that keeps our Creator in the closet. Buddhism is a tool of Satan and the followers unless they repent will join Satan in the Lake of Fire! Call that “self-enlightenment” if you wish.

Buddha did NOT conquer death. Jesus Christ DID!

John 14: 6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Please pray for the Buddhist to turn to God, repent and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Was Muhammad A White Man?

Did you know that Muhammad was white? It says that in the Hadith;

Volume 2: Book 17: Narrated Anas bin Malik
The Prophet never raised his hands for any invocation except for that of Istisqa’ and he used to raise them so much that the whiteness of his armpits became visible.

Volume 1: Book 8: He uncovered his thigh, and I saw the whiteness of the thigh of the Prophet.

Volume 2: Book 17: Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Dinar:
My father said, “I heard Ibn ‘Umar reciting the poetic verses of Abu Talib: And a white (person) (i.e. the Prophet) who is requested to pray for rain and who takes care of the orphans and is the guardian of widows.”

Volume 4: Book 56: Narrated Isma’il bin Abi Khalid:
I heard Abi Juhaifa saying, “I saw the Prophet, and Al-Hasan bin ‘Ali resembled him.” I said to Abu- Juhaifa, “Describe him for me.” He said, “He was white, and his beard was black with some white hair. He promised to give us 13 young she-camels, but he expired before we could get them.”

There are more verses from where that came.

Please pray for the Muslim follower. Pray that the Holy Spirit show them the Way of the Messiah Jesus Christ.

Did da Vinci Goof Up With The Painting Of The Last Supper?

Maybe another chunk of evidence to debunk Dan Brown’s, “The Da Vinci Code”? Jesus and his apostles were very likely not sitting in chairs. How could the great artists miss that detail out of the Bible? Jews sat a table to eat, however for special occasions, they would recline alongside little standing tables. They would lean on their left arm while the right arm was free to eat and drink. This particular occasion would be the Passover.

14 When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. 15 And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.” ( Luke 22:14)

Sorry Dan and Leonardo, you messed up!

This painting by Rossano is a more accurate depiction of the Last Supper:

The Last Supper by Rossano

POSTURE WHILE EATING AT FEASTS
It has already been observed that on ordinary occasions the people of the Bible age mostly sat or squatted on the floor around a low table at mealtime. In the king’s circle, or at other times of special ceremony, seats were sometimes provided. The prophet Amos is the first sacred writer to refer
to the custom of “[stretching] themselves upon their couches” when eating (Amos 6:4).
By the time of JESUS, the Roman custom of reclining on couches at supper had been adopted in
some Jewish circles. The Roman table and couches combined was called a triclinium. There
were three couches which were located on the three sides of a square, the fourth side being left
open, so that a servant could get on the inside to assist in serving the meal. The guest’s position
was to recline with the body’s upper part resting on the left arm, and the head raised, and a
cushion at the back, and the lower part of the body stretched out. The head of the second guest
was opposite the breast of the first guest, so that if he wanted to speak to him in secret he would
lean upon his breast.5
This custom at a banquet table throws light on several passages from the four gospels. The
Apostle John asked JESUS a question while in this position at supper (John 13:23-25). In the
story of the Rich Man and Lazarus, when JESUS said that “the beggar died, and was carried
by the angels into Abraham’s bosom” (Luke 16:22), he doubtless meant to imply that he was
reclining at a heavenly table next to Abraham where he could lean upon his breast. This is clear
in the light of CHRIST’s description of that heavenly feast: “Many shall come from the east
and the west; and shall sit down [recline] with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the
kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 8:11). Also this position of reclining at table explains how the woman could come during a dinner and take her position behind at the feet of JESUS and wash
them (Luke 7:38)

Olympic “Anti-discrimination” What A Joke!

Google (at least in Canada) posted this on their home page “The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practicing sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity, and fair play.” –Olympic Charter”

What are they saying? We could allow ANYONE to practice a sport. First “The Olympic Charter,” is 105 pages dated 9 September 2013. Where in this charter does it allow political statements? I may have under-read the “charter” but as far as I know (and I was an ex-Olympic athlete myself) there is no permissiveness for such actions!

I am completely depleted with the political activities and as a victim of the boycott of the 1980 Olympics, I am angry! NOBODY should be allowed to use the Olympics as a political platform! Leave the athlete out of this! The LORD JESUS CHRIST is taking notes!
